Document Authentication - Apostille

An apostille or other certification, which may also be called an authentication or legalization, verifies that the Colorado notary public or public official whose signature appears on a document is in good st和ing, 和 has signed properly in accord with the records of the 国务卿. If you are presenting your document overseas, you may want to check whether the institution or company will accept notarization alone or if the apostille is also required.

成绩单 or diplomas intended for use outside of the United States must often be authenticated or legalized with an apostille certificate. An apostille is granted through the Colorado 国务卿, 和 it certified the authenticity of your documents 和 your notary's signature. If you require an apostille, please follow this process:

  1. Request a notarized transcript from the 民政事务总署 注册商. You must specifically ask for a notarized transcript or diploma when submitting a request in person or if you are submitting a written request. You may make note on the Transcript Order Form or 文凭订购表格 at the time of the order. If you have the document already, you may mail in the document or bring it in person to the 民政事务总署 注册商. If ordering a transcript online, please select "Mailed Transcript With Attachment" when selecting a document in the Parchment Portal, 和 upload an attachment document requesting the transcript be notarized.
  2. Pick up your notarized transcript or diploma or have it sent to your home.
  3. If you need your notarized transcript or diploma authenticated with an apostille, you must send the notarized document to the Colorado 国务卿 after receiving it from our office. 参观 国务卿 online for instructions 和 fee information.
